Why now
A new market needs a new generation that understands it.
Ethiopia opened its first regulated stock market in January 2025. We make it understandable. MELA teaches students and first-time participants how the Ethiopian Securities Exchange works, what ownership means, and how to engage with confidence.
For decades, participating in Ethiopia's economy meant having property to borrow against or connections to rely on. The Ethiopian Securities Exchange changes the rules. For the first time, ownership is something a student, a teacher, or a young entrepreneur can hold. But access without understanding only relabels the old gap. MELA Institute exists to close it.
